Some iPhone 7 And 7 Plus Owners Experiencing β€˜Loop Disease’

iPhone 7

Some owners of Apple’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus handsets are having problems with their devices, the issues have been given the name of β€˜Loop disease’.

This is when the device gets stuck on the Apple logo when you power the handset on, the device wont go any further, you would think this is a software issue but it is apparently a hardware issue.

An early sign of Loop disease on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus is when the Voice Memos icon is greyed out or the speaker phone icon is greyed out during a call.

The issue apparently is due to the audio chip in the handset coming loose from the motherboard,it can be resolved be re-soldering the chip back on to the motherboard.

Apple is aware of the issue and is apparently fixing these handsets, you can see an official statement from Apple below.

β€œWe are looking into a very small number of reports affecting the microphone on iPhone 7, if a customer has a question about their device they can contact AppleCare,” said Apple.

If you have experienced this issue on your iPhone then you need to contact Apple direct, to get the isue resolved. It is not clear as yet on exactly how widespread the issue is.
